What the hell is cricket without him

I am not one, i guess there are millions who don't know the answer.

Whats Indian Cricket without Sachin Ramesh Tendulkar!!!.

View his statistics

Indian cricket since 1989 is a name.. nothing more..Tendulkar. May be India had a won a world cup before his entry to the arena, and one of course with out him, the 20-20s which is not cricket. Its the 100% commercial and entertainment mode of the worlds best game.

I have vague memories of watching cricket matches before the 90s. But after that i started watching matches because of him. I am a part of a nation that fell in love with cricket because of him.

From the day i started watching sachin batting, for each ball he faces i am tensed. If something goes wrong, chances of victory goes down by a huge margin. Or is it because i am there just to watch him play!!!For all those who says Sachin never performs well in crucial matches or for those who says Sachin performs well only when others perform, i have a simple answer. When sachin is in good form, he makes the matches simple. We get a feeling we would have won the match so easily even if Sachin hadn't contributed. There would have been situations when things went wrong, sometimes we feel its lot in case of Sachin because it has been around 20 years. Even if he makes a mistake once in a while, this time period is so large a period for the stats to lie.

Few words for those who think its time for the new generation

Giving all respect to team India captain Dhoni, his decision making abilities n for all those victories he dedicated to his 'young' team. Just count on the opportunities he had till now, talking as a winning captain/man of the match. Simple counting the man of matches Tendulkar would make Dhoni feel small and as a regular viewer i can guarantee i have heard sachin speaking only about how well he got support from others or how well the ball was coming to bat. Where as Mr.Captain always tell about his team selection and about the young battalion. All the veterans were once sachin's seniors, or played and retired while he was still playing for the nation. I bet he never spoke a word mentioning he was better than them. Instead others spoke for him. They admired the genius. And for those who doubted his abilities he always answered with his bat.

As an Indian cricket fan, i seriously wonder why the selectors are in a hurry to make Indian cricket charmless.

What can replace the master blaster??

The question is clearly phrased, its not "who", but a "what" that can replace Sachin. I guess BCCI is trying their best. They know there is no one who can replace sachin. Can some "IPL" replace the love we have for Sachin, simply because admiration and love can not be bought by money. I believe its his grace that still keeps Indian Fans with the team. A word of disappointment from this person can create chaos. He presence itself makes such a difference in our team. He eases out pressure from everyone else. While the lee's and murali's tries to pick him, its easy for others to play their normal game.

Adding a word on injustice shown to him.

Full support to Ganguly who mentioned sachin deserves the time to decide when to say adieu to the game. I wonder whether seriously he gets injured often or is he being dropped from the side? Someone like Sachin deserves a position in Indian team if he feels he can deliver it for India. For someone with the quality and caliber is age a deciding factor? Look at the aussies, Its when Mcgrath n Gilly felt its time. Pouring out the truth, I may not watch India playing without Sachin, which might happen in near future. Thousands like me might find happiness in watching EPL n F1 instead.

What would have been their fame, if he hadn't been there
Though they scored in excess of ten thousands, they always received fame and appreciation less because of him. Ever wondered what more they would have become if he was not there? Or may be they became the Ganguly, Dravid, Laxman, Kumble n all because of him.. who knows

All i know is.. I love Indian Cricket because of him...

Its all about Sachin

"Cricketers like Sachin come once in a lifetime and I am privileged he played in my time," said Pakistan legend Wasim Akram

Lara said: "For me, the best batsman in the world is Sachin Tendulkar. I admire Jacques Kallis' consistency and Ricky Ponting, with the purple patch he's going though. Everybody gets 15 minutes of fame. But if there's one person I've admired over a 15-year period, it's definitely Sachin."

If I've to bowl to Sachin, I'll bowl with my helmet on. He hits the ball so hard: Dennis Lillee

"When sachin goes out to bat, it beyond chaos... its a frantic appeal by a nation to one man"..Hayden on Sachin

"He is 99.5 per cent perfect. I'd pay to see him:" Viv Richards.

India's fortune will depend on how many runs the little champion scores. There is no doubt Tendulkar is the real thing: Sunil Gavaskar

I saw him playing on television and was struck by his technique, so I asked my wife to come look at him. Now I never saw myself play, but I feel that this player is playing much the same as I used to play, and she looked at him on Television and said yes, there is a similarity between the two... his compactness, technique, stroke production... it all seemed to gel: Sir Donald Bradman.
