A tale of four software engineers

Facts to understand the tale:
All four engineers got their degree in computer science and engineering from government engineering college Thrissur,Kerala. Stayed in the same hostel block (Kaveri- so called C block). Now working as software engineers, silicon valley,India.

A brief intro:
Software Engineer 1:
I , Me and Myself
Designation: Systems Engineer
Firm: Siemens Information Systems Ltd
(No more description about myself)

Software Engineer 2:
Dilip T.P
Designation: Systems Engineer
Firm: Siemens Information Systems Ltd
One of the most awesome dude i have ever met in my life. Always seen with girls. Guess i am the first friend he had of his own gender. That did made a difference in me too. Even though i too had a lot of 'girl' friends, he made it like lot of girl friends only.. though there were good guys too as my buddies.
We were almost always together n accompanied by girls which earned lot of reputation of us.
Enough of Dilips intro...

Software Engineer 3:
Dinil P ( Even his parents dont remember this name nowadays, i take the full honours for naming him Makkako which shortented to the "Makku")
Designation: Systems Engineer Trainee
Firm: Tata Consultancy Services Ltd
He never cares for anything. The coolest of characters you can find in any campus. If he wish he will write the exams, he gets the internals he wishes ( a big story which proves this will be updated later). And above all he managed to clear the burden of supplimentary exams and managed to join TCS so he could stay with us. Rest... happy and late for everything as ever.

Software Engineer 4:
Maneesh Kumar B
Designation : Software Engineer
Firm: Xalted Services ( though its gamble telling one name, he follows a kangaroo path for the matter of companies)
Like Dinil he too joined 'our company' late and happy for the fact that he lives with high caste guys. Always interested in assets. Assets for him simply implies buying home, land etc and never even managed to buy a tv for our house.

More than enough as intro, this cant be called a tale, its a narration of a part of our lives. A small incident which happened during the eventful twelve-thirteen months we were together.

June 17,2007
Location: Yo China, Koramangala, Bangalore

Like one of the usual nights we spend out, driving in our Ferrari ( the car eased our life at Bangalore, thanks to Deepa chechi, Dilip's Sister who bought the car with her hard earned money and gifted it to her brother. Since i was the only person who knew driving it was alomost like mine :) )

Like all normal software engineers, we normally have dinner from posh restaurants during the later part of every month because we want a safe "All credit cards accepted boards" to dine or we normal go for an half tea and break fast from vigneswara, the small tiffin center near our house. And we are among the breed who forgets what you have your wallet when you dine with your friends.Oh forgot to mention, we are moving out to an awesome home soon, located at BTM Second stage, a 2 BHK. Why cant four engineers who take home around hundred thousand bucks every month afford a 12 grands home? We could n we did!

We ordered some chowmein, chicken dishes and coke. Dont know how, but somehow we started thinking about our future(kindly note: the tale will be so boring from this stage). So someone had an idea, guess who? me of course!!. Wherever we are, we will meet on the same day after two years. All three of them were of the opinion two years is a very short span of time and most probably we will be staying together itself. So the span increased. On 17th of June 2012, we would meet.

February 25, 2008
Dinil's last day at Bangalore. He is leaving Bangalore (Bengaluru by this time) to join HSBC Hyderabad. One of the things we never expected, did happen. I still remember how happy we were to hear makku is going to join TCS Bangalore. The arrival which ended our solitude.

The first day three of us spent without talking to each other...

May 19,2008
I am no more an employee of Siemens, i got relieved last friday. I am on my way home. Will soon relocate to Ahmedabad. By this time Dilip and Maneesh had to shift to a one bed room apartment in the same building as they couldn't afford the rent.

I dont know how they spent the remaining days together.

August 7,2008
While i am writing this from my room in iima, trying to figure how all these ants are coming out of my R61; none of us are together. Makku is happily 'sleeping' with Chandu and Dhanyal, old college mates. Dilip and Maneesh had to move out due to some reason.
If one year could make such difference in peoples life. I wonder what we will be doing by the time we meet on the seventeenth of July 2012.

Lesson learnt: Never underestimate the value of time

Thus ends the story of the four software engineers together.
